i'm blue da ba dee da ba die...

♪♫ Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65

Yesterday was the big day! I rinsed my hair (to make sure there were no products in it), got ready and packed all my hair dying supplies. Then BJ showed up and took me to Subway before heading to his house. My nerves were so bad. I felt like I was gonna pass out or be sick the entire time. And it seemed like time was going super slow. Ugh. My anxiety always acts up when change occurs. Even good change.

We finally got to his house and his mom offered to bleach my hair for me, since I had no clue what I was doing (but she showed me - so I'll know for next time!). The bleach didn't take to all of my hair, which is really odd, because my hair was in its natural state. No leftover dye in it or anything. It caused my hair to turn out really light on top, then it faded into a darker blonde. And since bleach dries hair out really badly, I soaked my hair in conditioner for twenty minutes. It worked really well! My hair doesn't feel like its damaged. I know it probably is a little bit, but its not noticeable at all. :)

After that, I blow dried my hair, which took a really long time. Ahhh. My hair is so thick and seems to really soak up water like a sponge. Anyways, when that was finished, it was finally time to put the blue dye in! My boyfriend helped me out. We started with the top half of my hair (just in case there wasn't enough dye). But there ended up being more than enough, so we soaked all of my hair with the blue dye and covered my head in plastic wrap. I decided to leave it for over an hour, even though the instructions said to only leave it for half an hour. My reasons for that decision are; I spoke with a lot of people who dyed their hair with Manic Panic and they told me that it barely does any damage to hair at all and it has conditioner in it. The other reason is because I wanted the brightest blue possible. :P

By the time my hair was finished, it was nearly 1:00 am. I only expected it to take until 10:30 pm or 11:00 pm at the latest. I felt bad, because BJ had to wake up early the next morning and his mom was supposed to drive me home, but she fell asleep. Luckily his sister was awake playing World of Warcraft, so she drove me home after a raid.

I didn't get to see how it turned out until I got home, because I didn't have time to blow dry it at BJ's house. It ended up being several shades of blue and green. Not what I was hoping for, but I really like it anyways! I got all dressed up and took a bunch of pictures to show people. I must have taken about three hundred pictures or more, but only a small amount actually turned out good. I'm not very photogenic. And also, for some reason my hair looks like a different color in every photo. Its kinda frustrating. You'd have to see it in person to see the actual color. Oh and I kinda look like Ramona Flowers from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World when I leave my Bettie bangs down! :D

Today I didn't really do a whole lot. I woke up to some really lovely comments and a lot of likes on my blue hair pictures. And they kept coming in all day. I feel pretty great! Also, I did a bit of work on my Tumblr. I finally updated the sidebar and the "info" and "me" pages. And I was gonna work on a new layout for this blog, but I can't figure out what to do exactly. All I know is that I want an Autumn theme, then a Halloween theme for October. If you have any ideas, let me know! I'm also desperately seeking a background for both themes. So if you find any/have any; gimme! ^_^

  1. Bleach always causes hair to go light on top and darker as you go down. Only sucky part to dark hair! The blue is just so cute though, I'd have to say even better than pink. I think the Bettie bangs just make it even better.

  2. Ohh I love it! Very pretty! Makes me miss my shocking pink hair I sported a couple of years ago. I really feel like dying my hair a completely unnatural colour again. Purple maybe.
