happy thanksgiving to my fellow canadians!

♪♫ Nothing

Its been two weeks since I last blogged... oops. I've been pretty busy with school lately, plus volunteer work. I'm currently not feeling well due to eating too much food at Thanksgiving dinner, so I'm going to do this in bullet points and in no particular order...

  • I had a Harry Potter marathon last week. It made me really want to buy all the movies on Blu-ray, because my DVDs are getting old. Maybe I'll get them for my birthday or Christmas!
  • I took a new selfie a couple weeks ago and I think that I look super cute!

  • I got some pretty awesome DVDs and Blu-rays lately; The Addams Family / Addams Family Values, Stephen King's IT, The Haunted World of El Superbeasto, Supernatural Season 11, and Dreamcatcher / Dolores Claiborne / Cat's Eye / Creepshow. I also got a pair of sweat pants and two pairs of warm knitted socks!

  • Canada Post won't deliver mail to me for some reason. They are still delivering my checks, but nothing else. They won't tell me why. It really pisses me off. So now I'm having things sent to my cousin's house. She will hold onto any mail I receive until I'm able to pick it up.
  • I took part in a mock train crash. It was basically for the paramedics in training to get an idea of what a disaster situation would be like. I was patient zero (people were joking that I start the zombie apocalypse), I had a head injury and I was DOA. Here is me with the sfx makeup (they added more fake blood to my nose area after the picture was taken)...

  • I've started to re-watch Lost. Its been too long since I last re-watched it!
  • I'm completely in love with the veggie burgers from A&W. I'm trying not to eat them because they're super unhealthy, but its hard to stay away!
  • I'm currently at home for the weekend because its Thanksgiving here in Canada. I had Tofurky, roasted potatoes / carrots / onions, peas, stuffing, and mushroom gravy. It was too delicious and filling! I couldn't even eat half of it!

  • I've been watching a lot of John Oliver lately. I love Last Week Tonight, but it makes me think back to when The Colbert Report was on. I was so attached to that show and I really miss it...
  • I had some delicious vegetable fried rice with tofu for my dinner on Friday night!

  • There have been tons of creepy clown sightings in my town. People from my class have seen them. I haven't yet and hope that I never do, because I'm terrified of clowns!
  • I found the prettiest pasta ever when I was out shopping yesterday. Its multi-colored and shaped like leaves + pumpkins. I can't wait to try it!

  • I've become addicted to the series Broadchurch. I swear that British people make the best TV shows and movies!
  • I ordered two items online for myself. I got a Locke (Lost) mug for my birthday and a handmade Ravenclaw (book colors) scarf for Christmas! Once they arrive, I'm putting them away until December. I'm so excited for the day that I get to use them! ❤️

  • I got accepted for my local youth council, but I can't accept due to not having a drive to the first meeting, which is an hour away. Its a shame because I'm quite sure that the council gets to meet Justin Trudeau in 2017.
  • My grandmother was nice enough to purchase some vegetarian friendly Halloween candy for me! Including Jelly Belly's candy corn, which is my favorite!

  • I started volunteering at a homeless shelter and I love it so far! Working with homeless people is my main career goal, so its very good experience for me.
  • I got some groceries this weekend to take back with me...

  • I'm currently enjoying a piece of pumpkin pie with some CocoWhip!

  • I need to get back to my healthy diet because I've been eating a lot of junk food and have probably gained 5 lbs or so.
  • I finally got my bangs trimmed! They were starting to get really annoying, haha.
  • Two exciting videos have come out lately; a Twin Peaks teaser and a POTC: Dead Men Tell No Tales teaser! So excited for both!

That is all for now. I will blog again next Sunday!

they meshed the light of moon and sun

♪♫ Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold - The Hobbit

Another week of school has gone by and I haven't had a mental breakdown yet... haha. I had a group project and a group assignment to do this week. We're almost done the project, and we've completed the assignment... which I'm really happy about. However, I found out on Friday that we have a test tomorrow... so I'm pretty stressed about that. I was gonna start studying Friday night, but I was busy with other homework. Then I was going to start it yesterday... and I got super busy again. I started studying earlier today, but I doubt that one day of studying is gonna make a difference. I'll be lucky if I pass... but who knows... it is multiple choice, so I could very well end up passing with a decent mark! Wish me luck!

So I've had an interesting week... on Monday I woke up covered in tiny little bites. I wasn't sure if it was bed bugs or fleas. I emailed my landlord about it, and later that day she brought an exterminator over. He couldn't find any bugs. He said that I likely got bitten when I was outside for too long and just didn't notice right away. That is good news though... bed bugs and fleas are hard to get rid of!

My school was evacuated on Wednesday due to a bomb threat. There a bunch of bomb threats across Canada, apparently. My school wasn't actually specifically targeted, but we were evacuated anyways as a security measure. I was in the middle of doing a project in the computer lab at the time. Thankfully I was able to save my work before rushing out the door! It was pretty freaky! There was a forensic team waiting outside the school, plus a bunch of police officers. Not sure if they have figured out the legitimacy of the threat or not... but I hope everything is good now!

While I was at the grocery store on Wednesday night to pick up a few food items that I needed, I ended up buying some that I didn't plan on; a cute little plastic coffin box! It was only $2 too! I just can't say no to coffin shaped things!

I finally called Canada Post on Thursday. I haven't gotten any mail for a couple of weeks, which is very odd. People have been sending me letters and packages, but they're all being returned to the sender. Canada Post said that my address was correct, and there seemed to be no other reason for mail not being able to be delivered, so they are investigating. They told me that mail should be flowing again within the next week. Hoping that I don't have to contact them again about this. I've never had this happen before... its so weird...

I also did that "describe yourself in 3 fictional characters" thing...

John Locke; because I believe very strongly in destiny, I'm very philosophical, I'm a natural leader, I have one bad parent + a mentally unwell parent, and I don't let people tell me what I can't do! He is one of the first fictional characters I ever connected strongly with, and I even have the word "destiny" tattooed on my right wrist because of him!
Steven Hyde; because I'm very chill, I love Led Zeppelin, I hate the government, I do my own thing, and I have curly hair.
Chandler Bing; because I'm very awkward, I make jokes too much, I'm sarcastic often, my love life is not very exciting, and I smoke cigarettes on occasion.

Oh and I found out what my patronus is on Pottermore...

Not sure how to feel about it...

Yesterday I got to try out Amy's tofu scramble breakfast wrap. I wasn't expecting to like it so much... but holy damn! Its so damn delicious! I ended up having another one this morning for breakfast. Definitely a new addiction! Honestly though... Amy's in general is an addiction for me, haha! Also, I re-watched the first two Harry Potter films, and got some Subway for dinner. So it was a pretty great day!

Today has mostly consisted of cooking/preparing food (mostly a bunch of rice & tofu), watching Harry Potter films, and studying for my test tomorrow.

Last, but not least... I really want to start re-watching LOST, but its not on Netflix anymore and all my DVDs are back home. I will just wait for a few weeks when I'm back home visiting to pick up the first few seasons. I normally re-watch it once a year. However, it usually takes a month or less to get through all six seasons. So... because I'm in school, it will probably take until January to finish all six seasons. I'm cool with that though. I'm just excited to dive back into the world of LOST! I also want to re-watch The Hobbit movies... which I also have on DVD back home. I have a feeling that I will have a big stack of DVDs to bring from home next time I'm there.

I'll leave you with another awesome picture + quote that I found on Facebook...

back from vacation & getting ready for college

♪♫ Rooster - Alice in Chains

I'm back from vacation! I had a really amazing time! The first night I was there, my best friend Kara and I spent the night at a motel that was in the middle of nowhere. We arrived there at night and during a thunder storm, so it was really creepy, haha... we drank, ate junk food, talked, and watched House of 1000 Corpses. It was awesome... but the motel room was really shitty. She brought her own sheets for us, because motel sheets are usually gross... and when she tried to plug the mini fridge in... one of the prongs fell off! But it was only $50 for the night, so we didn't expect quality, haha. It was one of the best nights I've ever had! ♥♥♥

The rest of this won't be in order... I can't really remember what happened when... but yeah...

  • I went to the movies twice (I saw Nerve & Suicide Squad).
  • Went out for dinner pretty much every single day. My favorite place was a local pub that had vegan chili, which was amazing!
  • I decided just to be a strict vegetarian rather than vegan. I'm going to eat 95% vegan. But I'll be vegetarian for the sake of going to restaurants and also when it comes to sweets on holidays.
  • Seen all my friends except for two people. I also managed to avoid the two exes that I didn't want to see.
  • I went bowling, and I won!
  • I went to the arcade twice, and won a few cool things (a whale eraser, plush tie dye dice with peace signs, and friendship bracelets).
  • Drank a few times, but didn't really get drunk.
  • Ended up running into my mother (who I hadn't spoken to in a year and a half), and we worked things out.
  • Ended up staying an extra week.
  • My mum gave me a card + $100 for graduating.
  • Bought lots of cool shit (mexican style backpack, peace sign hemp necklace, Hogwarts shirt, & Harry Potter funko figures) + got some gifts from people (Doctor Who shirt, handmade Tardis purse, hand painted Christmas ornament, space backpack, aviator sunglasses, & The Dark Knight Rises on DVD).
  • Went back to smoking cigarettes (but quit once I returned home)
  • Met some of my friends' kids that I hadn't met before. They were so cute!
  • Visited all my favorite places in the city.
  • Went to the pride parade, which was really fun!
  • Got to spend lots of time with my kitty!
  • Went for a couple drives around the city.

  • I think that is pretty much it.

Here is all the stuff that I got...

Other random pictures from my trip...

I've been home from my trip for a couple of days now. I really miss my old city... I may move back there after college. Speaking of college... I found out that I'm being funded by the government and I can stay on social assistance, which means I will not owe any money back after school! But sadly that also means that I can't stay in a dorm on campus. Instead, I'm gonna try to rent a room. There are a bunch of ads online for people wanting to rent rooms out to students in the area. I emailed like ten of them already. Just waiting to hear back now. I'll be happy as long as the people are nice, its clean, close to the school, has wifi, its affordable, and I can eat vegetarian and healthy! Wish me luck! I'm not religious, but pray for me, haha!

Also, I ordered a few things for myself online yesterday; a replica of Jim Morrison's necklace, an authentic serape from Mexico, a tie dye Led Zeppelin shirt, and a David Lynch pin! They are all things that I've had on my wish list for a while now, so I finally decided to get 'em! I'm also going on a shopping spree for clothes in the next couple weeks! I'm buying almost a whole new wardrobe! I also need to get school supplies, supplements, and large wooden bowls (I just think they look cool & they're perfect for big meals too). I may also buy a few more bedding items. Not too sure yet. But I'm excited!

I've got a lot of stuff to do in the next few weeks, plus some family is visiting from out of town... so I'm not sure when I'll write another blog. Hopefully soon though!

happy 420 & happy easter ishtar?

    ♪♫ Nothing

Happy 420 to all my stoner friends! I don't smoke weed anymore, but I'm all for the decriminalization of it! It has a lot of amazing benefits for medical and recreational use! Seriously...research it! Although...I do think that protests should be held more than one day a year. Its really not gonna make a big difference to sit in front of a government building and smoke a joint on April 20th every year. Just sayin'...

    Oh hey, its Easter too!
Here is a little something interesting...

I can't prove that the above statement is true, but I love having debates with people about holidays and their actual roots. All I know for sure is that Easter was merged with the death and resurrection of Jesus, even though the two have nothing in common...at all. The holiday has really just become an excuse for people to buy ridiculous amounts of candy and toys for their children. Geeze, I hope I didn't ruin anyone's day. :P

Oh a related note; I was terrified of the Easter bunny when I was a kid...I still am actually. It started when I was young. I don't remember what age. But I woke up early in the morning and a member from my family (still unsure of who it was) was wearing a bunny suit (like the one pictured below) and holding a basket of eggs. I screamed in absolute terror. And I never looked at a bunny the same way ever again. It doesn't matter whether its a person dressed up as a bunny or an actual bunny. And movies like Donnie Darko and Bunnyman did not help my fear. Also, I will not go to the mall at Easter (they have a guy in a bunny suit who gets pictures taken with kids). Fuck those creepy ass dead black eyes and smile that almost says "I'll kill you in your sleep". Kill it with fire! D:

    This picture makes me shiver...ugh...

Well I'm heading off to my mother's house to have cheeseburgers and fries, then clean for her...again. I hope all goes well. And I really hope that I can write tomorrow. Remember those blogs I promised I would write and publish? They're still on notepad. I haven't had time to do anything with them. Ugh. -_-

P.S. None of the pictures in this post are mine. But they're pretty neat, eh? Well...except for that Easter bunny...

Edit at 10:36 pm: I had a good time at my mom's. I didn't have to do any cleaning. We just spent time together. She even made me chocolate cupcakes with mint/peppermint icing and mint Aero bubbles on top! So delicious! And of course; I got to spend time with Lissa (my cat). When I got back home after 9:00 pm, Matt's mom gave me a bag of Easter candy. I don't care about the holiday, but I'll never turn down free candy, LOL. Especially those marshmallow bunnies. They're one of my favorites! ^_^

♪♫ Do Ya Think I'm Sexy - Rod Stewart

Well, its time for my lazy ass to write another blog. Blah. Okay, okay, okay...I'll begin with Wednesday; my day started off by receiving a package. It was a Frank (Donnie Darko) action figure! So perfect! Matt went to Peer after that...for most of the day. I got his mum to drive me to Subway and back home. I pretty much just watched Supernatural. Oh and I was supposed to hangout with Kara and BJ, but I had no way to BJ's house. Ugh. I miss them. :(

On Thursday, I got quite a bit of stuff in the mail; a card from my grandmother (with $20 & a letter), an Eowyn action figure, and a mini '67 Chevy Impala model. So happy with everything! After all the excitement, I sent Matt to get us chili, some junk food, and a couple things we needed (with the $20). We decided to clean after our eating binge. I thought it would be nice for his mom to have a break (considering that her grandfather passed away - rest in peace!). She was quite happy. And nothing else occurred...except for watching more Supernatural. xD

Today I got two more things in the mail; a belated Valentine from Kaedan (Robyn's son), and the modem + equipment for the internet! I set it all up, but its not working. So a technician is coming tomorrow to fix it. I'm so excited! Anyways, I did some cleaning, made dinner, then Matt and I walked to the mall. I had to buy him a phone card (since I used all the money on his phone). I downloaded the new episode of Pretty Little Liars, plus I ordered Cry_Wolf on DVD for cheap. We got Subway before getting a taxi home (it was freezing outside). Now we're gonna end our night by watching Pretty Little Liars and eating Subway. Yay. :D
