we get down every friday night

♪♫ Body Electric - Lana Del Rey

After my last blog, I could barely move for a week because I pulled a muscle in my leg during bowling. I didn't realize it at the time, but on Monday when I woke up, I couldn't get out of bed. Luckily it was a snow day, so I just relaxed in bed all day. Then on Tuesday, I took the day off so that my legs could get better. I went to school the rest of the week though. By Friday, my legs were feeling fine, so it wasn't a big inconvenience... thankfully.

On Wednesday, I treated myself to a smoothie from a downtown cafe to cheer myself up because of my leg (I had to meet my class there for a presentation). I used to get them all the time, but it had been a while! It was nice to have something different for breakfast. I usually eat oatmeal with banana slices and almonds every single morning. I think its nice to change things up every so often. The same thing everyday gets boring.

Thursday was the last day of my school week and a pretty great day too! I had no homework to do for the weekend, so I had basically no stress. I got The Love Witch on DVD in the mail, which I have been waiting for since early/mid February. I had jalapeño poppers for supper, which are my favorite food right now. They are so damn addicting! Finally, I watched the new episode of Riverdale and re-watched some episodes of Twin Peaks!

This past weekend was busy. On Friday evening, I was in charge of the youth centre that I volunteer at. The director was sick and so I was asked to open and close. The night went well, aside from a crazy guy coming in. I had to kick him out, but thankfully he didn't argue with me about it. On Saturday, I hung out with two friends for a couple hours at the local library, my boyfriend and I played Magic, we also watched Dune, we went to the mall (I bought two books for myself), and I colored a pretty picture of a butterfly. Sunday was mostly dedicated to working on my Halloween quilt with my boyfriend's mom. I have finally finished the sewing, so now I'm doing the actual quilting part!

I have the day off from school today. Our teacher told us to just go get our supplies for camp today, but my group doesn't need anything, so I just slept in and decided there was no point in going out today. My other teammates agreed. Its nice to have another day off from school. Wooo! I plan to do a little bit of school work today, some cleaning, and lots of relaxing!

i found myself in wonderland

♪♫ Alice - Avril Lavigne

I'm back! Its been a very busy couple weeks. I started back up at school and things have been amazing! For those who don't know, I take child and youth care at my local community college. Instead of exams, my class must run a camp for kids ages 5 - 12 during March break. So, in preparation for this, we all apply for different positions within the camp. The top position is the coordinators, followed by team leaders and then camp leader. I applied for team leader because I wanted a leadership position and guess what?! I got it! I have four camp leaders and two groups of kids that I will oversee/support. I also do a lot of behind the scenes stuff! I'm so excited!

I've also been really good with getting my assignments done. I've actually gotten most of them done a day or two before they were due. Wooo! I feel so productive. Also, in April/May myself and my class will go off for our internship (our last placement that we will hopefully be hired from). I applied for the youth shelter that I did one of my placements at. I hope I get it! I feel like the next month and a half will go by super fast. I feel so excited and nervous. I just keep thinking about how amazing it will be when I graduate!

On a less happy note, I have fallen on the ice on my street three times now. I have a bunch of bruises on my legs. Ugh. I keep trying to avoid the ice but its everywhere and it blends in with the road. I don't see it most of the time. I'm hoping I don't fall anymore. Its really upsetting! Another upsetting thing is that I need to get my driver's license in the next year and I have driving anxiety. I'm going to start working on it next week and I'm worried. The reason I need it is because most jobs in my field requite it and I plan on moving in with my boyfriend. He lives in a small town with no bus system, so I need to drive everywhere. I hope all goes well!

To cheer myself up, I've done a small bit of shopping in the past week. I ordered The Love Witch on DVD and a small black coffin shelf. They are both things from my wish list and I have enough extra money, so I thought why not?!

I also took a cute new picture of myself. I have been feeling really good about my appearance lately! Dieting has been a bit hard though. I've eaten really healthy, but still am eating more junk food than I'd like to be. I'm trying to go easy on myself though.

I have also been thinking lately that I need to drink more tea with my fancy tea cups and I need to read more fantasy books, like Alice in Wonderland. I used to do that all the time, but its been a while since I did it. I want to get back to the things I used to love doing!

♪♫ Bron-Y-Aur Stomp - Led Zeppelin

Warning
This post will have 35 pictures included and be very long. Probably a new record for me. You don't have to read the entire blog.

I had such a weird dream the night after my last blog. I barely remember what it was about, but it had something to do with me being a hooker in a mall and Will Farrell was there. I wish I remembered more. I used to remember all the details of my dreams. Anyways, I got my haircut on Saturday. It didn't turn out how I wanted it to. I'm a little pissed. Its too short. But oh well. It will grow back eventually. People keep telling me it looks good, but that pisses me off because it doesn't feel like me. I can't wait till it grows back. Ugh. :(

My grandmother and I went to the grocery store afterwards. I found Blade Runner on DVD at the grocery store for five dollars, so I got it. Gonna watch it again with my boyfriend when I go home next week. Oh and I got bubble gum ice cream on my way back to the house. When I got to the house, my cousin called me "the little orphan Annie" and it made me even more sad about my hair. Ahhh. The rest of the evening was boring and lame from what I remember. But I did get a good picture of my tattoo. ^_^

On Sunday, I went out for groceries with my grandmother again (it seems like we get groceries everyday). I bought some munches for True Blood; Tostitos with dip and a big molasses cookie. The rest of the day was shit. No one wanted to go out or do anything. So we stayed home and did nothing. Only exciting things that happened was watching the new Breaking Amish: LA and True Blood. True Blood is really getting intense. I hate waiting an entire week for an episode. :(

I had to wake up early on Monday (to get ready to go to my dad's) and I fell down the stairs. I actually cried because I was so half asleep and the only part of my body that got hurt was my wrist. Right in the middle of my tattoo. I freaked out and ran to the bathroom, but its alright, thankfully. So I got ready and packed my stuff for my dad's. As soon as I got there, I got my grandmother to take a picture of us. Its the first one in a long time. He gave me a Rush CD, which is pretty awesome. Then we decided to go downtown. We went to the Hydrostone first (neighborhood with shops) because I've never been there before, but it was boring. So we got a bus downtown and started at the bottom, then worked our way up. I didn't buy anything until we got to The Black Market; a snake ring and two elephant key chains. Then we crossed the street and got fries at Bud The Spud for lunch. So yummy! :)

After that, we walked up farther. We stopped into Pete's Frootique and I found a rare treasure; Cherry Coke! We went into the mall across the street and we sat down for a little while, then looked around in the stores. There wasn't anything interesting. So I got a picture of myself in the mirror above the escalator and we left. We stopped into a thrift store down the road and I found so many awesome things, but it was so expensive. The most amazing thing was a suede tassel jacket. I will eventually get one! Oh and I got a rip in my favorite pants. Not sure how, but I'm very sad. :(

My dad wanted to use wifi, so we headed to a coffee shop called Just Us! My dad got coffee, but I only had a glass of water. It was nice to take a break. We caught the bus after that and went to KFC to get our supper (and I seen a really cool classic muscle car outside!). We also grabbed a tub of ice cream from the grocery store up the road, then caught a bus back to his place. We watched Pulp Fiction and ate supper, then dessert (and I got a picture of the view from his apartment window). We watched a documentary about classic rock, then watched Rosemary's Baby. My dad was tired, so he went to bed and I stayed awake watching Sleepaway Camp 3: Teenage Wasteland.

When I woke up, my dad made me a bagel and eggs and brought it to me in bed. I didn't wanna move because his bed was so comfortable. And I'm always a bit cranky when I wake up, so I allow myself some time to relax. We left to look in some more stores after a little while. It was raining, which sucks. But it wasn't gonna stop me from having a good time. Our first stop was Quantum Frontier, which is an amazing store filled with nerdy awesomeness. I seen a sonic screwdriver and a Tardis tent (Doctor Who merchandise) that I want really bad. After that, we went to a thrift store that was filled with cowboy boots. It was a little odd. There were so many of them everywhere. We went to a lot of different stores and I can't remember all of them. I remember that we went to a cafe called Java Blend so that my dad could have his coffee and we could use the wifi. I got an all natural root beer made in the city. It was pretty good. And I also remember finding a creepy antique store. They had strange things in there...especially an old doll in a wooden cage. We also dropped into the antique store across from my dad's house and I found 26 old horror comics, but I couldn't afford them (I also found an unopened package from Japan and I tried to open it, but the shop owner caught me). I hate being broke. :(

We got back to my dad's apartment and he left to get some ice cream while I made the pizza for us. I also began watching Brotherly Love from the beginning. I love that show! Anyways, he brought back chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and the pizza was amazing. But he left to go to a church choir practice, so I layed on the couch and watched Brotherly Love with ice cream. When he got back, I made more pizza and we were gonna watch The Stand, but I got the hiccups, which gives me anxiety. That kinda led to a conversation about mental illness. Finally after an hour or so, we started watching The Stand. It was really good from what I seen. But we didn't finish it because we were so tired.

Today I woke up at exactly 12:00 pm, even though my alarm failed to go off. My body must be used to taking my pill at 12:00 pm everyday. Anyways, I packed my stuff up and we headed to Java Blend to use the wifi. On our way, I stopped to write on the side of the Fred building (not sure what the building is for actually), because they have a giant chalkboard wall and a little box attached to the wall filled with chalk. Then we finally got to Java Blend and I bought an apple juice and a pumpkin muffin, because you can't use their wifi unless you purchase something. It was really delicious. But we had to rush. My grandparents showed up not long after that (to pick me up).

We went to the grocery store once again. I got some Subway for my dinner, along with strawberry milk and rain forest frogs. They both had to go to the bulk barn, so I went into the comic book store down the road. I've wanted to go for a while and it was awesome! Basically another nerd heaven. My grandmother bought me the tenth doctor's sonic screwdriver (the same one I wanted from the other store) and I was so happy. Now I just wanna get that Tardis tent! I asked my dad if he would get it for my birthday, so I'm hopeful. I ate my supper when I got home and watched some more Brotherly Love. Halfway through the first season already! :)

I put the sonic screwdriver together after dinner and its so great. It makes sound effects, has a UV light and has an invisible ink pen, so I can write messages and use the light to read them. Such a fangirl moment! Afterwards, my grandmother and I went to the mall. I got Untamed, which is the book I'm missing from my House of Night series. My OCD was driving me insane about it. I bought my best friend Kara a Star Trek shirt (because she is a huge Star Trek addict). And my grandmother bought me a Doctor Who shirt and the 7th season of Supernatural. On our way home, we got Dilly Bars at Dairy Queen (which brings back memories of when Robyn and I used to get them all the time) and got Tostitos for the chili we're having for dinner tomorrow.

That is pretty much it. Keep in mind that I don't normally have blogs this long with so many pictures. I only see my family once, maybe twice a year and I like to remember as much of it as I can. Its important to me. Anyways, I'm gonna go make a snack and download the new episode of Pretty Little Liars. So excited. ^_^

all ends with beginnings

♪♫ Get Lucky - Daft Punk

Before leaving to catch the bus on Saturday morning, I had some toast, did the last bit of packing and getting ready. My cat was following me around and kept jumping in my lap. I think she sensed I was going away and she was saying goodbye. I gave her lots of hugs and kisses, then I called my taxi and pulled my luggage down my long flight of stairs (which caused me to pull a muscle in my arm). The bus showed up not long after I got there and I wasn't tired (since I actually got a decent night's sleep). So I listened to music and looked out the window at the scenery. I love the Canadian countryside. It's so beautiful. Anyways, I had to switch buses halfway and thankfully the bus was already there waiting. Sometimes you have to wait a while. One time I waited four hours. This is the first time the bus was actually already there. Not long after getting on the second bus, I passed out. I don't know why. I didn't feel tired before. But I passed out. I woke up as the bus was coming into Halifax (good timing, eh!?).

As soon as I arrived at the Halifax bus terminal, my grandmother was there waiting for me with the car. We drove to John's Lunch for something to eat and stopped at Value Village. I found a cute Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean) plush doll. It was only 33 cents, so I got it. That's a sweet deal if ya ask me. I wanted to do more shopping, but we had to go to the house (my grandmother and cousin's house). I got settled in a bit and we had a BBQ. Just the three of us, but it was delicious. My grandmother and I decided to get groceries afterwards.

I dropped off an old disposable camera to get the pictures developed before we went through the grocery store. Its really old and I used it up two years ago when I was living with my ex-boyfriend. I'm sure the photos are gonna be interesting. The woman said it's gonna take a week or two. I hope its done before I have to go home. So yeah...grocery shopping was actually exciting. I picked out a lot of healthy food and a couple treats. I'm gonna be eating healthier, exercising and tanning while I'm here, in case I haven't mentioned that. Its hard to eat healthy food at my house, because my mom loves unhealthy food. -_-

I got a scratch ticket on my way out of the grocery store and I won another free scratch ticket. I wish I would win a few thousand dollars so that I wouldn't be so worried about saving for my apartment. Also, we drove by my old middle school before we got home. I only went there for grade 8, because I was being bullied so badly back in New Brunswick (but I got really homesick and went home for high school). I was really shy and awkward that year, but I have some good memories, like; talking to Robyn for hours, learning html/css, going through a "hip hop" faze (what was I thinking!?), etc. I can't wait to see more places from my childhood. So much nostalgia. ^_^

I spent the rest of my evening in my room (that's right - I got my own room for when I come here to visit!). I set up some of my stuff and tested out the bed (they bought a bed, which is great because I hated sleeping on an air mattress). I decided to watch Spring Breakers and enjoy some red velvet cake ice cream. I'm usually not into movies like Spring Breakers, but I kinda liked it. Guilty pleasure I guess? I started reading The Stand after that. I seen it in the closet when I was laying down and I've always wanted to read it. Only a couple chapters in, but its great so far. :D

This morning I woke up and made a delicious and healthy smoothie. The ingredients were; a banana, strawberries, blueberries, greek yogurt and milk. Yum! I wanna make one every morning. It gave me a big boost of energy. Which is good, because I had a busy day. My grandfather came and picked my grandmother and I up to go to a flea market. There was a lot of awesome stuff there. My favorite part was the book section. Shelves and boxes and tables filled with books. I spent so long looking around and managed to find so many books I needed to complete series I have. And they were so cheap too. No more than five dollars. The only other things that looked kinda interesting around the flea market, was GameCube games, Super Nintendo games, Living Dead Dolls and action figures. But a lot of it was expensive.

We went to Value Village after the flea market. I found more books that I wanted. A few that I've never heard of, but the description on the back sounded great and the first page pulled me in. I wanna get more books while I'm here on vacation. I'm so addicted! Altogether, I got 17 books today. Including the True Blood books my cousin gave me. I also found a super comfy flannel plaid shirt. I wanna buy more of those too. I love plaid shirts. It seems that I keep getting ones with a lot of red. I need a variety of colors! Hopefully I'll find some. I also need pants and bras. I'm gonna go to La Senza, Victoria's Secret and Wal-Mart sometime in the next week. Odds are I won't buy anything at Victoria's Secret, because its so expensive. :(

We went on a little trip out of town afterwards to a place called Fisherman's Cove. Its a small fishing village with a beach, gift shops, restaurants and a museum. We went to a restaurant called Boondocks first, because we were all hungry. Their food was so good. I've never tasted seafood more fresh in my life. We went through the gift shops for a little while after dinner. I bought a post card to send my boyfriend and my grandmother bought us Popsicles. Unfortunately because it was so hot, the Popsicles melted really fast and got all over my hands and feet. We didn't go on the boardwalk or on the beach, but I got some beautiful pictures. Next time we will! :)

I watched TV with my grandmother for a little while when we got home. I was waiting for all the seasons of Martin Mystery to download. They've finally downloaded and are on my Playbook and ready to go! I won't be watching it until after this blog, but I'm excited. I've also got some delicious Arizona iced tea and I'm gonna read The Stand until I fall asleep. I'm hoping to read at least five more chapters. It shall be a good night. :3
