rest in peace david lynch

♪♫ Summertime Sadness ~ Lana Del Rey

I haven't blogged in a while, and while I have lots of knew and positive updates in life, I won't be writing about them in this blog. Today one of my favorite humans passed away; David Lynch. A man who inspired me with his art, his weirdness, and his dedication to being true to himself. He was a filmmaker, an artist, a musician, and a photographer. David's had many artistic talents, and his style was completely unique. No one will ever be able to replicate what David achieved. He was a master of his own craft, an auteur. I've never experienced such heartbreak and grief from the loss of a person I had never even met. He really impacted my life in major ways and I'll always love him for that, and I'll miss him forever. Here are some photos of the pieces of David that live in my world...

Me in 2011, wearing my David Lynch shirt (I still have it). It has since gotten a bit worn out, so I have a new one.

This beautiful painting of David Lynch that my dad made for me (he is an artist).

My David Lynch enamel pin, so I can bring him with me on the go.

My Mulholland Drive tattoo, one of my favorite films ever, and one of my favorite David Lynch films.

I love Twin Peaks so much (the show David co-created with Mark Frost), that I used to sell these replica rings on Etsy. This is one I kept for myself.

My mini David Lynch figure, and all my books that are connected to David Lynch. Some of these are quite rare, and The Diary of Laura Palmer is a first edition copy!

I own most of David's work on DVD, VHS, and Blu-ray. Plus I added my Twin Peaks figure set, which my dad gave me for my birthday a few years back.

It'll take me a while to process this pain. To bring a shred of joy to ease my sorrow, I have finally ordered myself the complete series of On The Air, a show by David Lynch. Its a very rare show, due to the fact it was cancelled and has only seven episodes, and it was never officially released on VHS, DVD, or Blu-ray back in the early '90s when it aired. However, a company in California that specializes in rare media on DVD (legally) has created a DVD copy in recent years, which I have purchased. It has been on my wishlist for a while now, and is one of the only items I had left to buy for my David Lynch cinema collection. I heard good things about it, so I am excited... as excited as I can be right now.

Think I'll miss you forever, like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky...
