♪♫ Save Your Tears - The Weeknd
Guess who got accepted into university! This girl!!! I'm so excited! I found out last week and I paid a small deposit to hold my seat. I won't have to pay tuition until August. The university is in my city, but I will be doing my classes online at home. I have a small room that I plan on turning into my school area. I'm going to buy a desk, chair, a little shelf, some desk accessories and probably a new laptop. My current laptop cost $250 brand new... its not very good. I think I may go for a cute pink macbook, which will cost $1300, but will last a long time and get me through 4 years of school or more.
This upcoming weekend is my last weekend in my part time position at work. After that, I'll be just a casual worker again, which means I can pick up random shifts whenever they are open. This gives me a lot of flexibility. But becuase I won't be working overnight shifts again, that limits the amount of shifts available that I can take. Therefore, I'll be applying for second job at a similar place that also hires casual workers (I work in a youth homeless shelter & the place I'm applying to is a group home). This should allow me to work a decent amount through the spring/summer until I start school in September. It will also give me more options for shifts I can work while I'm going to school!
Luckily I won't have to work much through school. One of my jobs is a live-in support worker for three youth, who are all very independent. I'm basically there for emergencies/chats when needed. I get paid $1200 a month for that job and I don't pay any rent. Its a very flexible job, therefore its perfect for a student! I have the entire top floor to myself and my door locks, so I have lots of privacy. However, $1200 a month is almost exactly how much I need to live in, so if I want to save any money... I need to pick up shifts elsewhere. I did the math and I just need to work three shifts per pay period (1 shift one week & 2 shifts the next) to save enough money for my next year at school.
On top of all the things I'm buying for school, I also plan on buying myself a cute little white vanity for a place to do my makeup. I'm getting my eyelash extensions taken out in a couple weeks. I love having them, but its expensive and I need to save money for school/get used to living on a budget. So I have decided to say goodbye to them. I purchased mascara and eyeliner so that I can switch back to my old makeup routine. Also, on a random note, I bought Ariana Grande's Cloud perfume! I'm switching from using Britney Spears' Curious perfume (smells lovely but doesn't last long).
This past week has been a sad one... my family's dog BooBoo has passed away. He was 15 years old and had been sick for a long time, so it wasn't sudden. He just declined a lot recently, so my cousin took him to the vet to have him put down. He will be missed.
I plan on spending my day relaxing, watching TV, and eating junk food. I hope everyone is well! I will leave you with a picture of my newest plant: Lula, and the newest items I've ordered online! My online shopping hobby will be coming to an end very soon due to needing money for school, so I will be cherishing these items for a long time...
