I got my driver's license! Wooo! I only made one minor mistake on the test and the examiner told me that I did amazing! I was so thrilled! This was only a couple days after I wrote my last blog. Fast forward to this past Wednesday... I bought my first car! I had my eye on 5 different cars over the past few weeks. Two of them got sold, two of them weren't up to my standards after learning more about them, but then the last one... was perfect! Its a used dark red 2015 Honda Civic with only 52,000 km on it. It was previously leased by an older woman who didn't use it often. Its never had any accidents either. The test drive was really the point when I decided I wanted it. It drives so smoothly! I've named her Cherry. 🍒
Aside from that, its been a busy couple weeks due to work. I picked up some extra shifts for a bit of extra money for car expenses like; floor mats, an ice scraper/snow brush, air freshener, registration, and license plate. I still have to do the last two. I haven't had much time for self care, but I did get to go to the mall recently! I rarely ever go to the mall anymore, so it was exciting. I ended up buying supper at the food court, two bath bombs, nail polish, and cheesecake. Basically just some self care treats.
Next week I plan to take more time for myself. I really deserve it! The excitement and stress of getting everything set up with a car has caused me to lose sleep and most of my free time. Thankfully though, I am actually saving some money now. I was paying $400 a month for driving lessons for 6 months, plus $80 for a bus pass and $60 for a bus trip out of town to see my boyfriend. That adds up to $540 each month. All my car-related payments will be about $430 a month. They will go up a little when I move though, because I will be paying more for gas. I suspect about $100 more, so probably $530 a month at that point. But for now I'm saving about $100 a month! Yay!
