Pushing past the winter blues

♪♫ The Princess - Parov Stelar

I wanted to write a blog a few days ago, but I just kept putting it off. I'm becoming slightly affected by the winter blues. But regardless of that, I've still had a good week! I'll start with Monday; I got a 1 lb bag of unsalted pretzels! Why? Because they're a decent snack to have a couple times a week. Health wise they aren't too bad... or too good either. They're sorta nutritionally void, which is why I only have them a couple times a week, haha. Anyways, on Tuesday I made up a healthy soup recipe and it turned out really good! Its got chicken, bow tie pasta, quinoa, celery, spinach, green onions, etc. It was yummy!

It was David Lynch's birthday on Wednesday. So I posted a selfie in my David Lynch shirt to wish him a Happy Birthday, and I watched Mulholland Drive in the evening... and took another selfie. I've really been feeling more confident in my appearance lately, which is great!

I went to the gym for the first time on Thursday! I was really excited until I actually got to the gym, and then I started feeling really anxious and self conscience. I ended up staying in the women only section for most of my 35 minute workout. I'm so proud of myself though! I did five machines, plus the treadmill. And I didn't feel sore afterwards! I felt really good actually. I'm glad I took the next step in my weight loss journey!

Oh my gawsh, I made the most amazing healthy spicy chili on Friday! I made an extra big pot of it. I filled approximately seven containers with the leftovers to put in the freezer! I could seriously eat a bowl of it every single day and not get sick of it. Its too good! Anyways, I had my cheat day on Saturday! I got poutine and chocolate milk. Yum! And I walked around the mall for a while. Sunday was mostly lame. But I did finally watch Zelly and Me! The plot line really hit close to home for me. The abusive grandmother really reminded me of my mother, and the young girl reminded me of myself. It was an emotional movie. But I really enjoyed it. I'd give it a 7.5/10!

And before I forget: I lost another 4 lbs! That is a total of 29 lbs lost so far! I'm really happy that I'm on track. Thanks MyFitnessPal, haha!

Today has been pretty boring... I'm going to clean my room after writing this. After that, I'm gonna pick a movie and a snack. Its been a pretty lazy day. I'm not complaining though!
