♪♫ One More Sleep 'Til Christmas - The Muppet Christmas Carol
I made it to Cape Breton! My first night here was pretty uneventful. My grandparents ordered a pizza and garlic fingers for my dad and I. It was a long bus ride and we hadn't eaten much since lunch time, so it was great to pig out and just relax. I guess I should kiss my diet goodbye until the new year...
Yesterday my dad and I went to my aunt T's house to make a gingerbread house and gingerbread cookies with her and three of my female cousins. It was a lot of fun! Especially eating the cookies... haha! And for dinner, we went to my aunt L's house. My two aunts prepared a big Mexican feast. It was amazing! The chicken enchilada dip was unreal... I gotta get that recipe! Oh and my aunt L has two adorable cats that are so sweet! They kept following me around and begging for my attention. They were so sweet.
Today is my aunt T's birthday, so we all went to her birthday party earlier. My grandmother made meat pie and my aunt L made lasagna. Both were amazing! Especially the meat pie. It was my first time having it, and now it's one of my favorite meals! Before having dessert, we went to mass at the local Catholic Church. My 11 year old female cousin was in the Christmas pageant. It was so cute! And afterwards, we all went to my aunt L's house for cheesecake. It was heavenly!
Now I'm relaxing back at my grandparents (where I'm staying). After writing this blog, I'm going to watch The Muppet Christmas Carol with a slice of leftover meat pie. It's a combination of two traditions; my tradition of watching The Muppet Christmas Carol on Christmas eve every year, and my dad's tradition of having a slice of meat pie on Christmas eve every year!
